It was
Hillary's birthday and she requested a forest in which to spend her special
day. Down the Fish Eagle trail we meandered from Beacon Hill. The forest is always a
magical place to find oneself in. The group had split as the decent was too
steep for some.
The Tricalysia capensis
var. capensis where in full flower, their scent intoxicating. We
were fortunate to see Bachmannia woodii flowering. Simon
had found a "takkie" that could possibly be Cassine papillosa or Elaeodendron croceum. We
saw Maytenus acuminata var. acuminata in flower. The leaves have elastic
threads.
Moraea spathulata had set seed and Tracy took a leaf and held it up high
showing one the extent of the length of its leaf.
A wonderful day had by all.
